Detected memory leaks! (inference_engined.dll of openvino_2019.2.242)

I use the macro "_CRTDBG_MAP_ALLOC" to detect memory leak with my simple test program. I should conclude that there were memory leaks from "inference_engined.dll".

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately my original test program involves private modules (I should not disclose...). Additionally, I am not able to reproduce the issue after extract codes relevant to "inference_engined.dll" in a separate test program.

 

There is a few more observations...

1. The "memory leak" vanishes after removing CUDA (cuda 8.0) related codes in my original test program.

2. The "memory leak" vanishes if CUDA library (cuda 8.0) is unloaded before loading (using) inference_engined.dll

3. The "memory leak" appears if "Sleep(100)" is explicitly added between construction and destruction of an "InferenceEngine::Core" object

 

Finally, "inference_engined.dll" related codes only involve construction and destruction of an "InferenceEngine::Core" object (similar to the following)

InferenceEngine::Core *pCore = new InferenceEngine::Core;
Sleep(100);
delete pCore;

Wow. these are interesting observations. I respect and appreciate that you cannot share your private code. But if I understand you correctly, if you isolate OpenVino explicitly (keep it away from cuda), no memory leaks are observed ? But 3. The "memory leak" appears if "Sleep(100)" is explicitly added between construction and destruction of an "InferenceEngine::Core" object is interesting. 

I will make a small demo program which is similar to your code snippet and file a bug if i can reproduce.

Attached please find a small demo program (though I cannot repeat the problem with it)...

In addition, there are some more ways you could consider...

1. decode the addresses of "inference_engined.dll" on the call stacks to spot memory leaking codes

2. share with my relevant debug symbol of "inference_engined.dll" then I could decode relevant addresses on my own

3. I find out source codes of OpenVINO from git repo (open source already, right?) and build my own "inference_engined.dll" on my own......

Let's make things simple. Just focus on the contents of my first message in this thread. The first message contains sufficient information to locate memory leaking codes. Competent software engineer should be capable to decode addresses on the call stacks based on the contents of my first message.

An alternate way is to share debug symbol (e.g. inference_engined.pdb) of the problem DLL (inference_engined.dll) for easy identification of memory leaking codes. OpenVINO is open source, why bother sharing debug symbol(s)?
