I am using the Mustang-V100-MX8 board from IEI (8 VPUs) on Artesyn MC1600 server equipped with two Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU D-1567.
I have checked the OpenVINO documentation and it is clearly stated that I need to use "-d HDDL" argument to fully utilize the " Intel® Vision Accelerator Design with Intel® Movidius™ VPUs". Now, I've tried to run a demo from OpenVINO installation directory but I got "Error: HDDL hardware initialization failed, exits now". I have attached the output log. It would be great if you help me to figure out the problem.
Operating System: CentOS Linux 7 (Core)
CPE OS Name: cpe:/o:centos:centos:7
Kernel: Linux 3.10.0-8184.108.40.206.el7.x86_64
Libboost Version: BOOST_LIB_VERSION "1_59"
I think maybe you have not done additional installation steps from the guide, see below.
https://dls.ieiworld.com/IEIWeb/PDC_APP/PLM/OWFP000225/Mustang-V100_Linux_Plugin_220.127.116.1190409.tar.gz has a driver thats needed on some motherboards to correctly reset the IEI Mustang board. I've not tried it on Centos, but its certainly needed for my Ubuntu 16.04.
I use this solved Hardware Initialization Failed on ubuntu 16.04
Run the install.sh script with sudo, or as root.
On Windows*, do one of the following:
GUI: Double-click install.bat
Perfect! Those script install the latest BSL files.
We have significantly updated documentation in R3 to reflect these steps and of course carried it out to our latest release R3.1 here.
