Hello
Is it possible use NCS-2 (Myriad X VPU) for general computer vision tasks such as image processing filters using C or C++ language using the OpenVINO Toolkit?

Hi IkrameBgr,

For your information, as of the OpenVINO™ 2023.0 release, support has been canceled for all VPU accelerators based on Intel® Movidius™.

You can refer to the OpenVINO™ Toolkit Release Notes 2023.0 under the 'Support Change and Deprecation Notices' subsection under the 'New and Changed in 2023.0' section for more information.

The following devices therefore are no longer supported by OpenVINO™ Runtime:

  • Intel® Neural Compute Stick 2
  • Intel® Vision Accelerator Design with Intel® Movidius™ Vision Processing Units (HDDL)
  • AI Edge Computing Board with Intel® Movidius™ Myriad™ X C0 VPU, MYDX x 1

On another note, Open Model Zoo does provide an Image Processing C++ Demo as an example. However, you will need to use the archived version of OpenVINO Toolkit 2021.4.2 in order to inference with NCS2 device.
