Virtualbox NCS 2 with OpenVino (OSX Host)

There are several guides to get NCS up and running under Ubuntu (Guest) on a OSX Host using VirtualBox 5.22. However NCS 2 seems not to work in that context. I tried everything mentioned in the forums, but could not get the stick connected properly. After running the setup example, the device switches back to 'Intel VCS Loopback device'. The example terminates with 

[ ERROR ] Can not init USB device: NC_DEVICE_NOT_FOUND
 

Any idea? Did anyone get the NCS-2 working with VirtualBox on OSX?
