Upon receiving our floating license last week. We tried to install this on the Flex Publisher license server.
All good as it seems however the import keeps resulting in 2 errors:
Missing option file for mgcld vendor: local directory PATH
Missing option file for alterad vendor: local directory PATH
I've looked into this subjects documentation, however the stated solution does not work and somehow the option files are not read or loaded.
The information below is exactly how I've tried it, and reading some forum posts made me conclude that it's also possible to add the words OPTIONS= to the license file to directly point to the license file. None of this works.
- Add the options file as the last option on the VENDOR line in the license file, as shown in the following example:
VENDOR alterad "C:\lic\alterad.exe" "C:\lic\alteraOptions.dat"
5.4.4.1. Setting up a License File in the License Server (intel.com)
5.7.2. Using a FLEXlm Options File (intel.com)
Any advise?

Hello
Welcome to Intel forum. To narrow down this issue, can you please provide me the latest of the following?
1) Debug.log file
2) Machine OS information
3) Output of “lmutil lmstat –a –c <port>@<address>” server and client
4) license.dat file
FYI, you can find debug.log file at LMTOOLS > path to the debug log file.
You can also reply/attach your file in private message.

Hi there,
thank you for your response. I've tried to narrow down the information you requested, however I think we are both talking about a different LM software. The one we're using is the Flexnet License manager, from Revenera. That lmutils you are referring is a license server within the FPGA software. I tested/opened the various lmtools executables found within different folder under the intelFPGA software. All show that the service is not installed or running, which I can understand since we use the Revenera license manager/server.
So the debug.log file is not present- eventhough I could find the patch within the LMTools application. The directory it points to is empty.
Machine OS = Server 2022 standard | 21h2
See the private message for the requested files.

You the man! The alterad daemon version was too old as it seems.
The licenses appear now.
The system still gives an error about the option file (even though it is added) however, that seems like its not necessary.
If the users complain about issues, I will return back with information but as of now the solution is water proof.
Only thing is, the software kit only has a new alterad daemon, the mgcld daemon is not present in the package. Could be that I need to download the siemens version but the information is not clear.
Anyways - thanks a (super) lot!
