Quartus 24.3.1 licensing issue

Hello,

Have a customer unable to properly point their 'SW-ONE-QUARTUS' license to version 24.3.1. Any pointers or thoughts appreciated as always. The short is -

They're using FlexLM, able to point the license to version 18.1. They've also tried the 90-day eval license mimicking SW-ONE-QUARTUS, which works on 18.1 and older but not 24.3.1

Nothing is standing out to Me in the documentation or their error message received - “FLEXlm software error: Cannot read data from license server system. The license server system appears to be running, but is not responding.”

...
Seems we're also approaching a new revision of Quartus, being the site shows 24.3.1 dropped on 1/27/2025 - can anyone confirm?

Thanks,

Hi,

Could you re-generate the evaluation license from SSLC site https://licensing.intel.com/psg/s/?language=en_US and try again? I'm afraid that the maintenance date for both the evaluation license and purchased license 'SW-ONE-QUARTUS' had been expired.

Thanks,

Regards,

Sheng

Hi Sheng,

Thanks for your thoughts.
I'm not sure this would help as the customer has attempted both paid and an eval license from the SSLC. Paid license has months left to expiration and eval license generated <1 week ago.
Both licenses with the 11.19.6 FlexLM daemon work for older versions, <18.1.
I've asked them to attempt 24.3 or 24.2 if possible for the sake of debug. Wondering if the issue - specific setup or otherwise - resides somehow with 24.3.1.

Thank you,

Hello Sheng,

Sorry for the delay.
The customer's confirmed the issue persists with versions 24.2 and the new 25.1. All things remain the same - latest daemon in use, both trial and paid licenses work for 18.1.
Any thoughts you have here would be appreciated.

Hi,

Currently I have v24.1 available and had been tested without problem (8888@pg-ipapps-800g5) check screenshot:

I'm using evaluation floating license generated from SSLC.

Could you try with v24.1 to see if any problem from your side? Please follow the steps mentioned in the document attached.

If the problem still persists, please provide your pc host name and nic id to me. I'll try to create one from my side for you to test out.

Thanks,

Regards,

Sheng

Hi Sheng,

My customer strictly followed the procedure in the document you shared and interestingly, they were unable to point licenses to Quartus 18.1 in addition to the other versions mentioned. They rolled back the changes attempted in the procedure in order to regain access to Quartus 18.1.

I'm unsure what exactly would cause this - is this a symptom that sheds some light for you?

Thank you,

Hello Sheng,

My customer's resolved the issue by changing the port the license was hosted on, we can close this thread.
I greatly appreciate your support in this!
