USB Blaster sometimes detected as "Altera vendor specific"

Quartus is installed on Windows 10 virtual machine (Parallels) running on MacOS Catalina 10.15.4. The device is sometimes detected as USB Blaster II and other times as "Altera vendor specific". Sometimes it takes dozens of trials to get the USB blaster recognized. Any ideas how to fix?

May I know which Quartus version you are using?

Can you try to reinstalled you USB Blaster II driver on Windows 10? (refer to attachment provided)

Hi and thanks for your reply.

The Quartus version I'm using is 18.1.1 Build 646 04/11/2019 SJ Lite Edition

I tried to update the driver but I got the message "The best drivers for your device are already installed"

I tried when both the device was recognized and not recognized (please see attched)

Can you tried to uninstall your device & try step 1-11 again?

Hi Shafiq,

No, that didn't help either.

Whenever I turn off the development board, the JTAG device driver disappear from device manager. When the board is turned on again, JTAG driver is automatically re-installed.
