How to transfer modelsim vsim License from version 19.4 to version 21.1

Hi All,

I have recently  downloaded and Installed intelFPGA/21.1/   SW on my computer. But modelsim vsim is complaining  when I attempted to run it as follows:

$ /cygdrive/c/intelFPGA/21.1/questa_fse/win64/vsim
Unable to checkout a license. Make sure your license file environment variable (e.g., LM
_LICENSE_FILE)
is set correctly and then run 'lmutil lmdiag' to diagnose the problem.
Unable to checkout a license. Vsim is closing.
** Error: Invalid license environment. Application closing.

But the previous version 19.4 Works fine.

/cygdrive/c/intelFPGA_pro/19.4/modelsim_ase/win32aloem/vsim

Wondering if I need to apply another fresh License file for  */21.1/questa_fse/win64/vsim OR

request to upgrade my existing  */19.4/modelsim_ase/win32aloem/vsim  License File.

Please advise me as you think appropriate.

Thanks,

=====  Rama

Hi

Welcome to Intel forum. Per my understanding, Questa supported in Quartus version21.3. https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/programmable/support-resources/design-software/os-support.html?wapkw=operating%20system%20support

Could you try it in on Quartus 21.3 and see how things go.

We have not heard from you and It is not recommended to keep a Case idle too long without activities. I will now transition this thread to community support. If you have a new question, feel free to open a new thread to get the support from Intel experts. Otherwise, the community users will continue to help you on this thread. Thank you.
