Questa: Cannot checkout an uncounted license within a Windows Terminal Services guest session

Hi all,

I have Quartus Prime Pro 22.2 fully working with academic licence. Questa Intel FPGA Starter Edition is also installed on my machine, I created an environment variable LM_LICENSE_FILE and placed the path of the relative licence file I created online in the self-service portal.

As I am remotely accessing my computer I get this error a "checkout an uncounted license with Windows Terminal Service"

I found this problem was already reported here:

https://community.intel.com/t5/Intel-FPGA-Software-Installation/Questa-Cannot-checkout-an-uncounted-license-within-a-Windows/m-p/1345175

but no solution was given, is there a fix?

p.s. Is there an academic free licence for Questa Intel FPGA Edition?

Hi

Welcome to Intel forum. Currently, Intel does not support work with PC via RDP (Remote Desktop) session for ModelSim and QuestaSim software. Please refer to the Mentor Graphics* ModelSim and QuestaSim Support chapter of the Intel Quartus Prime Handbook.

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/programmable/documentation/gft1513990268888.html#mwh1410383443743

Under “3.5. Unsupported Features” tab.

For University license and related. Sign into the FPGA Academic Program website and request donations of design software licenses and hardware from there.

But if you still have any question regarding University Program, drop an Email to fpgauniversity@intel.com

Our university team will help and answer your question.
