Is Intel Fortran v7.1 for Linux still available for sale? I am planning to install the MCNP5 code on a Linux cluster, using MPI, and must compile the source. MCNP5 works fine with v7.1, is known to fail for v8.0, and has not completed testing with v8.1. I am so tight for funds that I can only buy a compiler one time. The developers quote a 200-400% performance improvement over the Lahey compiler by using the Intel or Portland compiler, but if I can't get v7.1, I may be forced to use the Lahey compiler.

For those interested, the quote on performance improvement can be found at: http://www-rsicc.ornl.gov/cgi-bin/enote.pl?nb=mcnp5&action=view&page=497

I stand corrected. MCNP5 is known to work on Linux with the following compilers:
* Intel Fortran Compiler, Version 7.1.037 Build 20031122Z
* Intel Fortran Compiler, Version 8.0.046_pe049.1 Build 20040616Z
* Intel Fortran Compiler, Version 8.1.018 Build 20040803Z
* Intel Fortran Compiler, Version 8.0.046_pe049.1 Build 20040616Z
* Intel Fortran Compiler, Version 8.1.018 Build 20040803Z
Apparently, the problem with an earlier build of v8.0 was corrected.

To answer your original question - you can buy 8.1 and then download 7.1 from Intel Premier Support. I don't know without looking exactly which version is there.
