Error 87 is "invalid parameter" and should be fairly easily solved. I have been trying to use the SPORT routines for some time now, but without complete success. My programme works, but only for limited time and then stops. It doesn't stop on any particular routine and the time or number of successful operations is very variable. It can then only be rescued by forcing an "End Now". I should like to hear from anyone who has successfully used the SPORT routines, with a sample programme. I could append my programme if there is any interest.

I think I have solved my problem. I am using CVF 6.0 which has a copyright date up to 1999. My computer is running Windows XP which was not around in 1999. By selecting Compatibility Mode for Windows 98 my compiled programme seems to be reliable. Most of my programmes do not need this, but the SPORT routines may be more critical on timing etc. My way forward may be to update my Fortran compiler for one designed for Windows XP/Windows 7.
