Cannot access messages in Forum

when I get that it is a timeout error for the login session. You see evidence of being logged in and not logged in. Schrodinger's Logon.

Select logout do a browser session refresh and start again.

I see that too. 

When I have message notification (yellow circle by headshot), click on headshot to get pop-down, click on messages, then get:

I also get session logouts now and again.  As Jim shows, the only thing to do is click your profile icon to get to the menu to allow you to 'Sign out'.  Then clear the browser and log back in.   It is annoying.
