Debugging Visual Fortran 5.0

Have Windows XP. Microsoft Developer Studio 97. On debugging Fortran program and asking for the value of an integer variable, i now get a pound sign and number or letter.  Values of non-integer variables show correctly. This is new and I don't know what started it or how to end it. I am a  horrible typist and may have hit a wrong key.

In the Locals window, right click on "Value" and de-select "Hexadecimal Display"
