One of my customers has the following problem:
I with to open old 4mm dat (DDS3), created with DEQ workstation, with windows 2k machine. The DAT drive is SONY SDT-9000 SCSI drive, handled with microsoft 4mmdat.sys driver ver.5.00.2195.6655 as BUS#=0 target ID=5, LUN=0. In the language reference, mentioned is an example "open (file='/dev/rmt8')", but I'm afraid it is not valid for windows environment. Could you please give me an example of opening tape device on windows?
A 4mm dat file cannot be accessed as a normal file on NTFS or FAT filesystems, also it is not like a removable hard drive.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
