I cannot get the free download to work with 64 bit OS and Visual Studio 2008

This past May I was involved in an exchange with Steve Lionel concerning gettting the latest version of the compiler to work on my 64 bit Microsoft OS. Here is a link to the forum:

My teaching load preventing me from finishing this thread and now the free download of the compiler is out of date. I am hesitant to purchase the compiler if it isn't going to work on my system.

I do own a copy of Version 9.0 as well as Visual Studio 2008.

Would it be possible to have a trial download that I can get to work -- with Steve's help --- before upgrading to version 11.xx?
