Hello,
I recently purchased the Intel Visual Fortran Compiler v.9.1 with the IMSL libraries. When trying to install the IMSL libraries on my dual quad-core workstation, the install wizard refuses to install the libraries stating that they will only work on a system of up to 4 cpus??? This is a major limitation. Any ways around this?

The current IMSL simply asks Windows how many processors there are, and it returns "8" in your case. We've been working with VNI at making the next version of their installer smarter, but it is a complex matter.
The workaround is to disable multicore in the BIOS, install IMSL, and then reenable multicore. Once installed, no CPU count check is done. We have confirmed with VNI that what they want to count is sockets, not cores or virtual processors (Hyper-Threading).
