I am trying to install Visual Fortran 10.1 (w_fc_p_10.1.021.exe) on a Vista Business machine. Visual Studio fails to install properly and i get the following message:
'Setup did not find a supported Microsoft Visual studio*. Refer to the release notes....'
I have tried removing the Intel compiler and then installing Visual Studio Service Pack 1 but get a simlar error.
Please help!

Do you have any version of Visual Studio installed? I gather from your description that the Fortran installer did not install Visual Studio Premier Partner Edition, right?
Try this. Open the folder C:Program FilesIntelDownloadIntelFortranCompiler10installs Right click on ppe.exe and select "Start as Administrator". Let it run to the end.
Next, install VS2005 SP1 and the Vista Update for VS2005.
Now try installing Fortran again. Let me know what happens.
