Installation of the package w_fc_pc_8.1.021

I installed already the package w_fcp_p_8.1.021 (update for the Professional Edition). Now there is the newpackage w_fc_pc_8.1.021. As I understand from prior messages, this is an update for as well the Standard Edition as the Professional Edition.
But, do I loose the professional part of Visual Fortran 8.1, when I uninstall my current version and install the new version?
Are the updates of both editions numbered separatedly?

Yes, the editions are numbered separately, and I agree it is confusing. You were correct to install the w_fc_pc_8.1.021 compiler, and your IMSL install is preserved. You should continue to install w_fc_pc_8.1.xxx updates as they are released.
