Intel Visual Fortran 11.1 disabled after Intel Visual Fortran 12.1

Is it normal behavior that Intel Visual fortran 11.1 stops responding after the installation of Intel Visual Fortran 12.1? When I try to start the Fortran Build Environment for applications running IA-32 or Intel 64, I get the following error in the command line window:

"C:Program Files (x86)\\Intel\\Compiler\\11.1\\067\\bin\\intel64\\ifortvars_intelxx.bat" is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

Any thoughts?

Hello Lekeisha,

When you installed the 12.1 compiler, did you select the parallel installation option? When you install the compiler, the default is to uninstall older versions.

I don't remember seeing that option, I saw a screen that mentioned the 11.1 IDE being unistalled with the installation of 12.1. Is that option available under Advanced installation to configure? I'm assuming...

Yes, it is under the advanced installation options. You will have to reinstall the 11.1 compiler.

So, what is the order of installations for both versions to coexist? First, install Visual Fortran 12.1 and then 11.1? or vice versa?

If I already installed 12.1 without the advanced option, do I have to uninstall 11.1 too or just uninstall 12 and reinstall?

Please let me know.. Also, please tell me where is the Parallel install after Advanced, I don't see it under Components to Install. Then, there is a screen to select version of Visual Studio 2008 or 2010???

The parallel install option only appears if you have another version installed already. You can install 11.1 without uninstalling 12.1. If you want to user 12.1 in the IDE, do not select the options for IDE integration because that will override the existing settings.
