Hi:
This isn't exactly the correct place to post this, but I can't find any place else, and maybe the correct "someone" from Intel is listening.
I have two machines here; one is a fairly obsolete machine running Win XP Pro. It is about 5 years old. I normally use Firefox.
The second is a brand new machine, quad core, Win 7 Pro.
If I visit the Intel website from the old machine, I get an immediate response and have no trouble.
If I visit the Intel website from the new machine, it takes about 10 minutes to load any page - that includes any forum page and even the intel Home page.
I've tried both Firefox and Internet Explorer 7. No difference.
I have not seen this happen on any other website I have ever visited with the new machine.
So, what is so unusual about the Intel website? As far as I know, there are no unusual network settings on the new machine.
Does anyone else have this problem? Is the problem at Intel or on my machine? Is there a cure?
Thanks for any insights.

I've never seen a problem loading the Intel home page. Sometimes this forum can be initially slow if you have not accessed it for a while. What security software (AV, firewall, etc.) are you running on the new box?
I'm using Zonealarm for the Firewall, but I've tried turning it off and it makes no difference in the speed of reading from the Intel website.
I've also tried Internet Explorer from "XP Virtual machine" on the new box and the same thing happens.
No AV yet - the machine is too new.
So, the problem is either machine dependent or Intel dependent or Win7 dependent, since "Virtual XP" must pass through the Win7 network somehow. If no one else is complaining about Intel website and Win7 or combinations thereof, then I guess I know where the answer lies.
Sure wish I knew what to do about it or even how to start a diagnosis.
Thanks for your interest.
