New registration - NOT happy

When attempting my previous posts, I somehow got tangled in a process of having to re-register in order to post a message, despite having been registered on this forum & predecessors for many years. It seemed to be some sort of security update, but I now realise I was being registered as a new user.

In that process I had to fill in new details. What I failed to note was that halfway down the screen my email address had been automatically entered as my display name. I am very unhappy about that - a very stupid default.

In attempting to correct that I had to enter user name & pw & go through a set of "security" questions about 3 times - about an hour all up, on top of the hour to update the compiler etc = a very short night.

Plus I have now ended up with two profiles on this site. Guess this one will be orphaned off as hopefully I can now get back to my previous identity.

I agree that this is an unfortunate default. Indeed, I thought ISN was no longer doing this.

I'm not sure why you were led to reregister - that should not have been required. I will pass your comments on to the ISN administrators.

Hi Steve,

while you are at that, could you pass them a similar problem I have? I currently have two accounts, one

with my current email address and one from my old address. I have looked how to delete the old one,

but I have been unable to find a way (the old one has the display name "arjen.markus"; there being

two such accounts is however my own fault).

Regards,

Arjen

Arjen

Write to isn.support at intel.com and explain the problem.

Hi Steve,

I did and they referred me back to this forum (or the general forum page). Unless I misunderstood

their answer.

Ok - I'll see if I can get the ISN folks to do this for you.

Thanks, I might not have bothered (and I would certainly not have bothered you ;)), but

I get two emails now whenever there is a new posting.
