Has anyone encountered the following strange issue:
A client called when some Interl Fortran EXE program i sent would produce an FP error 65 (invalid floating) at startup.
after some investigation, it was found that if the printer driver was change the error did not occur.
The client says "the printer is Xerox 8560, it is a network printer; driver is installed on my machine"
I seem to recall from a while back a problem with certain software resetting the FP register to an unexpected value which caused an FP error condition to occur.
Does anyone recall that issue? (i couldn't find it in a search of the forum).
the error occurs in a ia32 compiled program on a Vista Windows 32 machine. The program is run on a lot of other machines and works fine on this machine EXCEPT when that XEROX 8560 is the default printer. The eror occurs at startup/load of the program.
thanks for any assistance.
Brian
(i obviously told them to check for an update to the driver, butin the event that doesn't help)

I have a vague memory of such a problem, but with an HP printer driver.
