Problem installing CVF 6.6 professional Fortran upgrade

I recently bought the upgrade from cvf standard 6.6 to professional and I am installing it on top of a CVF 6.6C installation.

It will not accept my serial number.

I have had problems installing my 6.6 which is an upgrade from 6.0 which was an upgrade from 5.0. The only way I could install 6.6 standard was if I first installed 5.0, then the 6.0 upgrade and finally the 6.6 upgrade. It would not take any of the earlier serial numbers if I tried to install without installing the 5.0 first.

So, trying to install 6.6 professional over 6.6 standard, it will not accept my 6.6 serial number.

It seems to have to do with the fact that I missed the 6.5 upgrade and went directly from 6.0 to 6.6.

I did download the fix for this, UPG66FIX.EXE, from

Problems upgrading to CVF 6.6? See http://compaq.com/fortran/kb/q1039.html

and this does not accept my serial number for the upgrade either. I tried both with and without the dashes between the numbers for the 6.6 professional upgrade.

My serial numbers are as follows:

5.0: deleted

6.0: deleted

6.6: deleted (standard)

I am installed OK up to here, cannot install:

6.6: deleted (professional)

What can I do to get this thing to install? I need it for a project!

Thanks in advance,

Charles.

I removed the serial numbers - you should never post those in a public forum.

I suggest you contact CVF support at vf-support@compaq.com I am sure they can help you.

I already contacted CVF support at vf-support@compaq.com. This was a copy of the e-mail to them with the added info that I had downloaded their fix and it didn't work.
They responded automatically with the usual drivel about being so busy they would likely never get back to me:
"We have fallen behind in answering recent support requests, which is likely to result in longer response times. If you need a quick response, we encourage you to use other support opportunities specified in this message or on our webpage. We apologize for this inconvenience.".
Last time I contacted them, I never heard back at all. I got my answers here. Still haven't heard back. I think that was months ago.
So I came here again. Looks like I spent $275 and got nothing for it. Package says "Edition Upgrade requires previous purchased of Compaq Visual Fortran Standard 6.5 or 6.6"
I have 6.6 upgraded from 6.0 upgraded from 5.0 upgraded from Fortran Powerstation.
Looks like they don't support long-term repeat customers.
Any suggestion as to where else I can go to get help to figure out how I can install this thing?
Charles.

Send me the details at steve dot lionel at intel dot com and I'll see if I can figure it out. I didn't keep a copy of the serial numbers from your message.

It is not necessary to install 5.0 in order to install the 6.0 upgrade - all you needed was the serial number.
