Hello everybody,
I am trying to install the 10.1.008 linux fortran compiler on Ubuntu Gutsy (7.10) x86_64 version; here's output of 'uname -a'
Linux eagle 2.6.22-14-generic #1 SMP Sun Oct 14 21:45:15 GMT 2007 x86_64 GNU/Linux

However, installation process dies immediately after I enter the serial number; here's the error message I get:
----------------------------
The Intel Software Setup Assistant may attempt to connect to the
Intel Software Development Products Registration Center to validate your Serial Number.
This may take several minutes depending on your network. Please wait...

You may press Ctrl+C to cancel.
/opt/l_fc_p_10.1.008/./install.sh: line 332: 21948 Floating point exception(core dumped) $install_prog $@
----------------------------

I can read in the README file that Ubuntu 7.04 was supported, so is anything changed with Ubuntu 7.10? If not, can anybody help me to solve this problem?
Thanks in advance.

Yes, 7.10 is incompatible with 7.04 in this regard. We're looking at 7.10 now to see what we need to change.

My advice is to assume that the versions of Linux distributions listed as supported are valid for those exact versions only and no others. Linux distributions can and frequently do make incompatible changes between releases.
