Hi,
I'm attempting to upgrade my Fortran Compiler to the latest, version 11.1. I have an earlier version installed, with Visual Studio 2008. I selected the 'Intel Visual Fortran for Intel 64 (for customers who have Microsoft Visual Studio already installed).
The installation failed, I received the following error message:
Execution of dependency "C:\Program Files(x86)\Intel\Download\w_cprof_p_11.1.038_intel64\Installs\1033\w_cprof_vs2008\Install2008Shell.exe" failed. Microsoft Visual Studio" 2008 Shell will not be installed.
Have I selected the correct installation option? I had installed the package using an earlier version with all the defaults before.
Thanks,
John

Well, that is strange - it should not be trying to install VS Shell at all. Does the install stop at that point?
Try downloading the package that has a name ending in _novsshell.exe and installing that.

Steve,
While installing the package, again, I encounter the message:
Windows cannot find 'c:Program Files (x86)IntelDownloadw_cprof_p_11.1.038_novsshellInstalls1033w_cp...Install2008Shell.exe',
Then, Execution of dependency "c:ProgramFiles(x86)IntelDownloadw_cprof_p_11.1.038_novsshellInstalls1033w_cprof_vs_2008Install2008Shell.exe"failed.
Microsoft Visual Studio" 2008 Shell will not be installed.
This is after / during the run of the novsshell.exe and yes, the install stops at this point.
Thanks,
John

Please uninstall any Intel Visual Fortran you see in Add/Remove Programs then try again. I may need to enlist the help of our install experts on Monday.
