I think I saw in one posting (read before I was serious about upgrading) that someone found MS Studio.NET for less than $80. I believe they said it was cheap due to its having a non-optimizing C++ compiler. I am finding prices in the $500 to $1000 range. Can someone provide a part number for the least expensive MS Studio.NET product that will work. If it is available for less than $80, where is that?
I believe the Intel VF product description page indicates MS C++.NET is required but it seems MS has replaced this productwith Studio.NET.
If Intel is going to require 3rd party software to be purchased by the user, it seems thay should at least identify itclearly. Better yet, workout a deal with MS and offer a bundled package (like the old days).
It would seem worthwhile to post the answers to this basic set of questions in a special post that is easily found at the top of everyone's message list like the pricing and upgrades post or the porting post.
Thanks,
Randy

MS Visual C++.NET Standard Edition is what you are looking for. It frequently sells for under $80. This is not the full Visual Studio.NET product you were looking at.

I went to microsoft.com and did a search on C++ .net standard edition and found only C# .NET 2003 (called C sharp like in music notation) in the product list. It sounds like this is probably what you are talking about. They say this is a hobbyist/non-prof version of the studio.net. They also make it sound like C# is an extension of C++. The MS list price is $109. Is this whatone needs to run IVF?
