Steve, do you have a clear view of the anticipated release date for v10? And can you confirm that no additional licenses for MSVS will be required with v10?

Thanks, David White

I do indeed have a clear view. Less than a month away. I'm not sure how to answer your question about MSVS. I can say that if you are already using 9.1 for Fortran-only development, you don't need to buy any new MSVS. If you're doing mixed-language development with VS.NET 2002, you'll want to move to VS2005.

Steve,

Does v10 have an integrated IDE, or do we still need MSVS?

Thanks, David

Steve, that is seriously NOT helpful.

I want to get a second, desk machine to improve my productivity during long number crunching work. I can install IVF on this machine under the license conditions, but expect that I would need a second copy of MSVS, so this has $ implications.

Regards, David

I forgot to add, the carrot you dangled about 6 months ago was that IVF would not need MSVS!!

If you want to install the compiler on a second machine under your current license, you will need a second copy of MSVS. I suggest that you wait just a few weeks and see what other options are available.

We are currently investigating the potential impact to our project of a migration to the new Intel Visual Fortran 10.0. I therefore kindly ask you whether you have a "Migration Procedure" available in any shape or form that outlines how to perform this migration to Visual Fortran 10.0? Thank you very much in advance for your efforts.

Is this a migration from Compaq Visual Fortran*? If so please see the following document which still applies to the 10.0 Intel Visual Fortran compiler.

If the migration is from the 9.1 version of the Intel Visual Fortran Compiler to the 10.0 version. There will not need to be a migration and any differences will be noted in the release notes.
