Run-time check "stack" disables optimizations in compiler version 13.0?

Hello, when compiling with runtime checks enabled, I now get a warning ifort: warning #10182: disabling optimization; runtime debug checks enabled I figured that there is a new check "stack" that - when enabled - results in this message being generated (and leading to slower code). Is there a reason why this new check has such a large impact? Since I could not find any comment on this in the release notes, maybe some developer could comment on this new feature.
