I have install Visual studio 2008 on my computer and now I want to install the fortran (X64). However, the installation failed and I got the following message:
"Unable to install the integration into Visual Studio. Failure in"C:\\program files (86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\IntelFortran \VFPackages\integrate.bat" "c:\\program files(86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\Tools" (see picture)

I found a post (https://software.intel.com/en-us/forums/topic/284459) regarding this problem, the solutions in that post didn't work for me.

Anyone know how to deal with this?

Thanks.

In particular, Visual Studio X64 support doesn't work unless \windows\system32\ is on PATH.  That needs to be included in the PATH set at reboot time in properties>advanced system settings>advanced>environment variables

The picture you included did not show up. Can you attach it as a file?

You say that the solution in the other thread did not work - did you already have the x64 support for VS2008 installed? Does the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\VC\bin\amd64 exist and have link.exe in it?

Thanks Steve.

Please see the attachment. Yes, I have x64 support for vs2008 installed, and the folder you mentioned have link.exe in it (see the 2nd picture please). I tried to uninstall vs 2008 and fortran, and then reinstall them, but this didn't work, too.

Ok, thanks. Please do tell me what you tried in the first post to include the image.

Did the install otherwise complete? If it did, please try the steps shown in I can't create Fortran projects or see any Fortran support in Visual Studio

and see if that helps. If you get error messages from those steps, please show them to me.

Thank you.

The image I posted first is the same picture as the second one (problem.png).

I go through the 3 steps you suggested in https://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/troubleshooting-fortran-integration-issues-with-visual-studio/.

Step 1:No "Intel Visual Fortran" is listed

When I Open Microsoft Visual Studio from the Start menu.  Select Help > About., get the following info:

+++++++

Microsoft Visual Studio 2008
Version 9.0.21022.8 RTM
Microsoft .NET Framework
Version 3.5 SP1

Step 2: This folder do contain six .DLL files

Step 3: Repair the integration

I got the following:

Exactly how did you try to include the image in the first post? Please list all the steps you took.

I wonder if there's a problem with PATH, given the other errors.

From the instructions in the article I linked to, open a command prompt window.  Set default (cd) to a folder you can write to, such as your desktop. Type the command:

set path > path.txt

Attach the file path.txt to a reply here.

I upload the image via the "add media" option listed on the right of the menu.

I set defalut (cd) to the root of C-disk (system disk), and run that command and get this:

Path=C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE;C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\VC\BIN;C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\Tools;C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v3.5;C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727;C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\VC\VCPackages;C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\VC\PlatformSDK\bin;C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\Tools\\..\IDE;C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE;C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\VC\BIN;C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\Tools;C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v3.5;C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727;C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\VC\VCPackages;C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\VC\PlatformSDK\bin;C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\Tools\\..\IDE;C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\Compiler\11.1\072\lib\Intel64;C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\Compiler\11.1\072\lib\ia32;C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\Compiler\11.1\072\mkl\em64t\bin;E:\Microsoft HPC Pack 2008 R2\Bin\;C:\Program Files\Tecplot\Tec360 2013R1\Bin;E:\CTEX\WinEdt;C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\OpenCL SDK\3.0\bin\x86;C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\OpenCL SDK\3.0\bin\x64;C:\Program Files\Lenovo\Fingerprint Manager Pro\;C:\Program Files\MPICH2\bin;E:\LAMMPS 64-bit 20140214\bin;C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Tools\binn\;E:\Abaqus 6.12.3\Installation\Abaqus\Commands;E:\UltraEdit\

It looks as if your PATH is missing some of the standard Windows folders. Please reboot your system and try the install again.

In particular, Visual Studio X64 support doesn't work unless \windows\system32\ is on PATH.  That needs to be included in the PATH set at reboot time in properties>advanced system settings>advanced>environment variables

Thank you Steve. But it still does not work for me.

Hi Tim, Thanks for your reminding. I open properties>advanced system settings>advanced>environment variables, and find \windows\system32\ is not on PATH. But I am not familiar with this. Could you please tell how to include "\windows\system32\ is on PATH" in the PATH set? Thanks again.

Thank you so much, Prince.

added C:\Windows\System32 to PATH and that works for me. I really appreciate it.

Steve, thanks a lot. I am very grateful to your kind help.
