Undestructable DOS window created by debugger

have been running Intel Visual Fortran with Visual Studio 2008 in Windows 64bit XP.

I started using this so ftware recently.

Whenever I debug a console appliction, it opens a DOS window as expected. However, w ehn I stop debugging that window does not close. New DOS window opens for the next time I do a debugging etc. I cannot kill these DOS windows. I end up with many DOS windows. They prevent me from shuting down of the computer. Only way out is power off.

I would appreciate if someone can help me find a way out of this problem.

I had this problem with VS shell and also with full installing of VS08.

Thanks

Wije

This is caused by a Microsoft VS security update. See this thread for details.
