After installing IVF 9.0 and the VS.NET integration on my D: partition, I've found that I cannot open a Fortran source file by double-clicking on it without seeing the message "Windows cannot find 'filename.f'...". The file opens without problems if I open it from within VS.NET, which is also installed on the D drive.
I've tried uninstalling the IVF 9.0 integration and then reinstalling it, but this failed to fix the problem. From other postings on the forum, it looks like installing VS.NET to a partition other than C: may cause problems. Is this an issue that will be fixed with subsequent releases of IVF or should I re-install VS.NET on the C: partition?
Thanks,
Tim

It has nothing to do with the partition, which is not an issue in 9.0. It's a bug in the way the registry entries are set up. I've already reported it.
Here's how to fix it on your system.
- Open the control panel, select Folder Options.
- Click on the File Types tab.
- Scroll down to file type F (Fortran Source), click once to select.
- Click Advanced. Select Open with Visual Studio.NET 2003 and click Edit.
- Under Application, you will see a "?". Replace that with "VisualStudio.7.1" (no quotes) if you have VS.NET 2003, or "VisualStudio.7.0" for VS.NET 2002. Don't forget the dot before the 7.
- Click Ok, Ok, Close
You will have to repeat this each time you update the Visual Studio integration until the bug is fixed. However, this will apply to all Fortran file types, not just .f

Thanks for the quick fix Steve. That did the trick.
