VS2005 Save Project>No such interface supported.

I have VS2005 Pro Ed v 8.0.50727.42 on a Windows XP Pro PC.

I upgraded from IVF 9.1 to 10 using package 10.0.025. Installation instructions said to remove VS 2005 IDE for Fortran - I did that.

From VS2005 I see that IVF Compiler Integration for VS2005 is installed.

From VS2005, I begin a new Intel Fortran DLL Project.

When I try to save the project, I cannot due to this error message:

"The operation could not be completed. No such interface supported."

How do I fix that ?

Thanks,

Cliff Phares

Please reinstall the compiler and see if that helps. Don't uninstall anything. If you need more help, please contact Intel Premier Support.

I upgraded VS2005 to SP1 - can't save project files.

I re-installed 10.0.25 - still can't save DLL project files.

I installed 10.0.26 - still can't save DLL project files.

I re-installed 9.1 VS2005 IDE - didn't work.

- everything worked fine prior to going to 10.0 !

Please contact Intel Premier Support. This is not the sort of thing that can be worked out in a user forum.

Here is what worked for me with this problem: In VS 2005 go to tools/options/ select "projects and solutions" and then "General". Check the box "Save new projects when created". Now I dont have that problem anymore.

It strikes me asdiabolically perverse to provide a product whose default setup appears to be to prevent you saving work that it encourages you to create in the first place, which would appear to beworking directly in opposition tothe product's raison d'etre. Say it aint true, Steve?

The default is to have this option on. If you turn it off, all new projects are created as temporary projects. I can verify that if you have this option off and then try to save the project, you get the error. I had never seen this before, but as I noted the default is that new projects are saved.

I'll report this to the developers.

I am having the same problem: VS2005 wouldn't let me save my project after I upgraded from 9.1.023 to 10.0.026. So, I reinstalled 10.0.26 and since then my VS2005 doesn't even give me the option of creating a FORTRAN project.

What do I need to do to get VS2005 to work and save?

babu, were you seeing the EXACT same problem - same error message? Or was it something different?

Now, when you do Help..About in VS2005, do you see Intel Fortran Integration listed?

I strongly suggest that you contact Intel Premier Support for assistance.

Please report these problems to Intel Premier Support. It is starting to look as if something may have gone wrong in a recent update and we'd like to figure it out.

I could confirm that I also was not able to save my project in version 10. The solution specified in this thread worked fine for me.
