Dear Friends:

I installed Visual Studio 2008 standard under Vista Enterprise, then installed Intel Fortran Compiler 10.0.026(this is the only recent one I can have). However, when I open Fortran compiler dos window, there is a message indicating unabel to find Visual C++ 7.1 or higher and compiler will not work properly. help needed.

I appreciate your opinions. Thanks a lot.

VS2008 requires 10.1.019 or later. You'll need to use the bundled VS2005 Premier Partner Edition, if included in your license type.

VS2005 Premier Partner Edition is included with (most) commercial licenses of IVF 10.0 and later. It is not included with Student licensing nor in the "suites" that also include Intel C++.

You get it by logging in to the Intel Registration Center and downloading the IVF packge that has a name of the form w_fc_p_10.0.026.exe - not one that has _IA32 or _novsppe in the name. You should not have to uninstall VS2008 first.

After installing, download from Microsoft VS2005 SP1 and the Vista compatibility update - links are in the IVF installation guide. Read the specific instructions regarding use with Vista in the IVF installation guide. It works fine on Vista as long as you follow the instructions.
