intel about to support CVF !
One would think such web pages should be marked clearly as past history, particularly in view of rumored renewed cooperation among the responsible parties.

I remember that page, but where does it say Intel will support CVF?

There was, once upon a time, a proposal for Intel to take over tech support for CVF while the new "combined" product was under development. The idea was that when we released Intel Visual Fortran, Compaq would stop selling CVF and would refer customers to Intel. HP, which bought Compaq a few months after the Intel-Compaq deal was signed, chose to continue selling and supporting CVF so this transfer of support didn't happen.
In a practical sense, we did support CVF for more than two years as Intel employees did all the tech support and fixed bugs. The last CVF update was February 2004 (6.6C3) and HP took over answering questions from users at that time.
