LINK : fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file 'kernel32.lib'
I continue to have this problem with the VS2015 integration since updating VS2015 to the current version. I have spent about 20 hours on it, removing VS2015 entirely and re-installing, and removing all Parallel Studio 2016 components and re-installing.
VS2012 and VS2013 integrations continue to work fine, even when setting -Qlocation,link to point to the VS2015 bin\amd64 folder.
The removal of VS2015 and ICL corrected some problems on the C++ side with Intel compilers using original VS2015 include files rather than the updated ones, but it made no difference to this link time failure. CL doesn't run in the ifort cmd window because it looks for the original include files which Microsoft has moved. I suppose, if I could find a way to run 64-bit CL outside of the Intel environment, it might work there.
I had a premier ticket open on it but it was closed when I agreed that the ICL INCLUDE path part of the problem might be fixed by this very time consuming removal and re-installation, before I had time to verify it. I got an acknowledgement of an unsuccessful attempt to reopen it.
I have changed my installation from win8.1 to win10 (now that Advisor supports win10). This made no difference to the problem. I don't know whether win10 will stay up for more than 24 hours; so far, it seems to shut down automatically on account of mandatory updates. I used the Intel driver updater to fix the Intel driver problems which Microsoft didn't take care of, but there are still complaints about printer drivers.
There is an old locked thread on the similar subject (from long before VS2015). So maybe we will have a conflict.
