fail to install visual fortran 11.1

Hi everyone

WhenItried to install visual fortran 11.1.070 on Windows XP SP3, and selected to integrate it into Visual Studio 2008 SP1 which is already installed, this error message popped up:

"Erroe while intstalling package '.\\Installs\\1033\\\\w_cprof_ide_ia32_emhe_p_11.1.070.msi' ".

Then the installer would rollback and remove all componets installed.

The picture of the error message have been attached.

Any help would be highly appreciated!

It might be the problem described in http://software.intel.com/en-us/forums/showthread.php?t=79255 and earlier postings. There you will find a solution which worked perfectly in my case.

I didn't find any intel fortran directories in the Windows PATH environment.

I installed ivf 11.1.060 with vs2008 sp1 successfully long time ago. Recently, keeping ivf 11.1.060, I installedivf 11.1.070. Yesterday, I uninstalled ivf 11.1.060, but found that 'Intel Fortran Help' in 'VS2008 Help' couldn't work. Then 'Repair' ivf 11.1.070 again and again, it still didn't work. So I uninstalled ivf 11.1.070, and tried to reinstall it. The error message came.

Now the installation couldn't finish.

Please try this.

Uninstall all versions of Intel Fortran.
Delete the Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Intel Fortran folder
Reboot
Temporarily disable any antivirus or backup programs you may have running
Try installing 11.1 again

Let me know what happens.

I did as what you suggested.There still was the same error.

It seems that the unsucessful integration caused this error.Is it possible thatthe errorhas any relation to the hotfixes I have installed recently?

What is the filename of the installer program you downloaded? The path shown for the installer files in the error message is not normal.

In Visual Studio, please do Help > About then click Copy Info and paste the results into a reply here.

The filename of theintel fortran installer is w_cprof_p_11.1.070_novsshell.exe, from which I extracted the installer files into "E:\software\software\Intel Visual Fortran\ivf11.1\ivf11.1.070\070".

Can you try installing version 12? (Visual Fortran Composer XE 2011) Update 2? If it fails, at the end of the install it will offer to show you an install log. If you can attach a ZIP of that it would be useful.

I tried to install version 12.0.2, and it failed as version 11.1. Though I didn't find the install log, the error message hinted me that it may be caused by mistakes of Windows Installer.

Then I checked out the hotfixes, and uninstalled KB981669 which isan update forWindows Installer 4.5,
even thoughthe uninstallation may affect some other hotfixes and VS2008 MSDN SP1.
After that, I installed version 12.0.2 again, andthe installationwas finished successfully. Finally, version 11.1 was installed.
