forrtl: there is not enough space in disk

Hi, I'm running a code in visual fortran. After a few hours of running the program pauses and I receive the error message listed in the subject of this posting. I have plenty of hard drive space, so I'm not sure what the error message is about. I suspect it may have to do with the fact that my program opens and writes and closes many files during execution...something related to virtual memory maybe. But I'm not sure and don't know how to diagnose the source of error. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks a lot!!!
