ifc 7.0 still available?

Hi there,
I need ifc 7.0 to compile GAMESS, a quantum chemistry package.
For GAMESS, ifc 7.0 is known to perform better than ifort 8.1, which instead has I/O problems. It seems ifc 7.0 is no longer offered on the Intel website. Is there any way I could obtain/download ifc 7.0 ?
Thanks

A 7.1 installer is available from Premier Support File Downloads. If you really, really need 7.0, submit a request to Intel Premier Support. You will have to have a supported license (not non-commercial) and we'll have to issue you a new license key.

I would strongly recommend trying the latest 8.1 first, and if you're not happy with that, 7.1. I don't know of any "I/O problems", unless what is referred to is a change in the way that FLUSH is implemented - 9.0 will revert back to the 7.1 method.

Hi Steve,

thanks for your prompt reply.

Re downloading ifc 7.1, all I seem to have access to is a single page with only ifort 8.1.nn compilers on it. The "Previous" and "Next" buttons don't work (I'm using the Mozilla browser on Linux).

Re the source for my original question:

I'm not sure what you're looking at. I suggested that you log into Intel Premier Support and select File Downloads from the left column. You need to have registered your serial number to get access to that.

I found the support request from the GAMESS authors and am asking that it be investigated.

7.1 compilers may have remained available only to paid licenses, and were planned to from premier disappear when 9.0 is released. Generally speaking, later 8.0 compilers, and certainly recent 8.1 compilers, have been superior to 7.1, if you watch the minor changes in default options, like the byterecl one.
