Can you supply (or confirm)the following information:

  • Describe what you do to cause the problem.
  • Which version of Windows?
  • Which version of Visual Studio? It appears to be VS2008 but please confirm.
  • Which version of IVF? It looks likeIVF 11.1 update #5 or update #6. Again, please confirm.

Since you aren't using the latest version of IVF 11.1, can you upgrade to update #7 and see if that solves the problem.

What appears to be casuinbg the problem is putting a breakpoint. It works fine without the break point.

when I go line by line it crashes when allocating an array of composite type - outside that subroutine breakpoints / and debugging all seems fine even after the allocation

I am not sure if I understand your suggestion. The code is proprietary so I can not post it in the public domain.

I will take this post priviate with my next message and if you post there only you and I will be able to see it.

I am afraid without a test case we can not diagnose the problem.

I have found a solution to this problem - clearing up the "watch variables" window resolves the crashes. But even that is a bit tricky because sometimes it crashes before you can clear up the watch window.

Is there a way to clear the watch window before I go into debugging?
