Hi Forum
I have just purchased Intel Visual Fortran Compiler Professional Edition for Windows* but am unsure on what version to download. I want to use it on the following system:

XP pro v. 2002
Servicepack 3
Intel core i7 CPU
965@3.20 GHz
3.23 GHz, 2.99 GB of RAM
Physical address extension

The reason i purchased the compiler is to be able to run the ADAPT5 software (http://bmsrs.usc.edu/Software/ADAPT/ADAPT.html)
which has been tested by the authors on the following compiler:

Intel Visual Fortran 11.1 (distribution includes version with MVS 2008 Shell and Libraries integrated and the version for MVS 2008/2005 installed separately)

Hope that you can help me out.
Regards
Mads

The specification agrees with the current ifort for Windows. There isn't enough information to judge whether your choice of Windows version matches. The same ifort is appropriate for any production Windows version (or even recently out of production versions, if that is what you are saying), as the installer package supports both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows installations.

Do you have Microsoft Visual Studio 2003, 2005 or 2008 purchased and installed separately? If so, then download the installer with the name ending in _IA32.exe. If you do not have Visual Studio already, download the one you mentioned, which incliudes Visual Studio 2008 Shell.
