I recently 'inherited' some codes that seem to require CVF 6.1 Pro or 6.1a Pro but do not work with later versions of the compiler. Does anyone know of a reseller or an individual that might still have available these outdated versions of CVF?
Thanks
Jeff

I doubt any resellers have them - that was six years ago You can try eBay, but beware of counterfeit copies.
I'd guess that the software has a bug. What problem does it have?

Thanks for your prompt response...I basically need to run some simulation codes that were developed by another group several years ago. I just started work at a company and another fellow tells me that he had problems using later releases of CVF because of something to do with IMSL in them...I do not yet know what the problems are in great detail...might have to just buy the latest version of VF, get the IMSL routines and see what issues arise during build.

If you're going to buy, I would strongly recommend buying Intel Visual Fortran instead. You'll get a much newer compiler, one that is actively developed and supported, and has a newer IMSL as well. Note that Intel Visual Fortran requires the separate purchase of Microsoft Visual C++.NET 2002 or 2003, or Visual Studio.NET 2002 or 2003. Visual C++.NET 2003 Standard Edition is the least expensive option. However, I'll admit that Intel Visual Fortran Professional Edition is more expensive than CVF Pro was.
Note that HP stopped manufacturing of CVF Pro more than a year ago. You MAY be able to find some resellers with stock of version 6.6 Pro.

Actually Compaq Visual Fortran is still alive as HP Visual Fortran :
andI guess you can get something like 6.6c version (non Pro) from HP.
and we all have google :-) ( Amazon for instance offering CVF 6.5 .... NOW)

You can't buy CVF 6.6 Professional from HP - not since March 2004. As I said, some resellers may still have copies. As to CVF still being "alive", I'd suggest that's a bit optimistic. The Standard Edition from 2001 is still being sold, for now, yes.
