Keep receiving this message 'Graphics monitor server crashed and successfully restarted. No additional actions required', and not able to start any applications or to attach anything.
I tried to update my graphics card driver, or reinstall GPA as described in this link: Graphics Monitor Server never successfully starts - Intel Community
but no luck unfortunately, any help or suggestions ?

Hi Oliverwang,
Thank you for your post! I'm sorry that you have run into problems opening Graphics Monitor. That is understandably frustrating.
We have a workaround that should fix the issue you are encountering.
1) Please open a command prompt (may need to run as administrator)
2) Enter the following command: cd "C:\Program Files\IntelSWTools\GPA\emon\bin64" to change the working directory
3) Then, execute the following command:
C:\Program Files\IntelSWTools\GPA\emon\bin64> sepreg.exe -u pax
4) Restart Graphics Monitor
After executing this command, hardware CPU metrics will be disabled in System Analyzer and Graphics Trace Analyzer. But all other graphics profiling will be unblocked.
We have a fix planned in the upcoming release GPA 2024.2 for this issue.

Thank you for replying so fast. Unfortunately, the 'sepreg.exe' didn't work, reporting "This application can't run on your computer" after executing the command you provided. I'll wait for the upcomping 2024.2 release then.

You are welcome!
And I'm sorry that this workaround didn't work for you.
The new 2024.2 release just came out, and it should hopefully resolve the issue you had been experiencing.
Please let me know if you encounter any more issues when opening Graphics Monitor or attaching to applications.

Hello i have the same issue. I have updated GPU drivers and installed the newest version of the application but the issue described by the person above persists. I would like to add that to insall the program in the first place i had to use
net localgroup /add "Authenticated Users"
command.

Hi WYDUA,
Could you share some logs with us that might help diagnose the issue? The logs can be found at [User folder]\Documents\GPA\Logs
And a potential solution we would like to suggest is to delete the following file: [User folder]\Documents\GPA\MonitorConfig.json
As well as the following registry entries using regedit.exe (or command line if you would prefer that):
- Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Intel\Graphics Frame Analyzer
- Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Intel\Graphics Monitor
- Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Intel\Graphics Trace Analyzer
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hey WYDUA,
A fix for the issue you have encountered with Graphics Monitor Server crashes is targeted to be included in the upcoming 25.1 GPA Release.
Cheers!
EDIT: Removed incorrect information about the January hotfix update containing fixes for this issue

I have this same problem. Newest version from download page(24.4.1736876343) doesn't fix this issue. I tried some solutions from forum, but without success. Version 2024.3 worked without problems. GPA generate dumps files In Documents folder for every second. This is infinite loop to end space on disk drive.

HI Dawiduser143,
Thank you for your post, and I'm sorry to hear that you have been having issues opening Intel GPA Graphics Monitor.
Could you share some information to help us better diagnose this issue?
- The System Analyzer information (accessible using the (i) icon in the top right hand corner of the screen, see picture below but for System Analyzer instead of Graphics Monitor)
- MonitorConfig.json file from default Capture Files Location folder, usually it is C:\Users\<USERNAME>\Documents\GPA
And you've mentioned you've tried some solutions on this forum. Have you tried the spreg.exe workaround (Solved: Constantly notified of Graphics Monitor Server crashing), or deleting MonitorConfig.json as well as the registry entries Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Intel\[Graphics Frame Analyzer, Graphics Monitor, Graphics Trace Analyzer]?
"GPA generate dumps files In Documents folder for every second. This is infinite loop to end space on disk drive."
Could you tell me more about this issue as well? Is it generating dump files constantly until Graphics Monitor is closed?

Spreg.exe doesn't work. Permission denied and system only show message like on the screenshot. I'm working on administrator account permissions. Delete registry files do nothing. Change "\" to "/" line "C:\Users\river\Documents\GPA in MonitorConfig file also doesn't work. "Is it generating dump files constantly until Graphics Monitor is closed?" - no, only when turn on the program, this is infinite loop when program is running. 2024R3 works without any problems, also with disabled developer options, but R4 brings only new problems on my device.

Hey Dawiduser143,
Apologies - it turns out that the January hotfix was for a separate issue and did not include the fix for Graphics Monitor Sever crashing. A fix for this issue is targeted for the upcoming 25.1 GPA Release.
Thank you for the additional information and clarification. Could you try this workaround?
- Navigate to your GPA install directory (C:\Program Files\IntelSWTools\GPA)
- Delete the following .dll files: EMONPlugin.dll and NPUPlugin.dll
Let me know if this works for you. And sorry about the incorrect information regarding the hotfix, I have edited my previous posts to reflect this.

Delete a EMONPlugin.dll file is resolving the problem with creating a dumpcrash files and crashing monitor server notification. NPUPlugin.dll deleted or not, it doesn't matter. Thanks for help and i am waiting for the new 25.1 GPA version.

I'm glad to hear that! Thanks for the information regarding NPUPlugin.dll.
You are welcome and we look forward to getting the 25.1 GPA release into your hands.
Cheers!
