Upgraded GPA today, now it no longer captures DX9 (through normal or extended (dx11) modes)... the program running gives an access violation (0xc0000005 error)
it is as though GPA is locking the program out of accessing it's own space
was working perfectly fine last release

Medievil,
Do you have the latest driver? I usually have to update my graphics driver when I install a new version of GPA. Otherwise any number of strange things can happen.
If that doesn't help,
- copy the info from the 'i' at the top right of Graphics Monitor and paste it here so I can see your platform specifics;
- Tell me if you are using Trace Analyzer or Frame Analyzer;
- And tell me where exactly it is that you see a lack of DX9.
