Failed when compile oneAPI-samples/DirectProgramming/C++SYCL_FPGA/merge_sort on FPGA hardware

Hello,

I started a JupyterLab session and failed when compiled merge-sort project for FPGA hardware.
First problem: I followed this bleow tutorial and compiled two times with two boards provided by github but met the same problem.
https://github.com/oneapi-src/oneAPI-samples/tree/master/DirectProgramming/C%2B%2BSYCL_FPGA/ReferenceDesigns/merge_sort

Second problem:
Github provides FPGA precompiled binaries (merge_sort.fpga). We found we have no permission to run this executable file. Shall we get some supports or suggestions to run our design on hardware?

This is our first time running code on an FPGA, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. And we will continue to look for solutions.

Thank you,
Wanyu

Hi @wan1,

Thank you for posting in Intel community forum and hope all is well.

Just to ensure that you are running the example in the right platform jupyter mention I believe its in Intel DevCloud.

Sometimes in jupyter you will be assigned by the node that are not having the right resources.

Hence would recommended the following:

1) Perhap you can access different node in jupyter by following the steps 'New Batch Mode Tutorials' in the link (https://devcloud.intel.com/oneapi/documentation/shell-commands/)

2) Accessing the devcloud via ssh which will give you more options to select the desire node.

As for the second issues on permission, as per my knowledge there shuold not be any restriction there.

Maybe can double check on the files permission via the linux command.

Hope that clarify.
