Choosing the right library/include

Hi, I'm currently working on benchmarking a set of computers using the signal-processing primitives. I'm working with three different processors: the Pentium 3, the Pentium 4, and the Pentium 4 Prescott.
I realize that the Itanium instruction set differs greatly from the IA32 instruction set but compiling using the Itanium library and include files has produced successful results.
I am now presented with a two-fold question: should I strictly use IA32 for the Pentium 3 benchmark, and should theIA32 or theItanium lib/include files be used for the Pentium 4's?
Any insight would be much appreciated!
Best Regards,
Matt
