Intel IPP. What's the edge on it?

Hi,
I heard of Intel IPP, but not used it yet. I would like to know what's the performance edge that is provided by IPP over default libraries.

I would recommend to read Intel IPP performance indicators at:
http://www.intel.com/software/products/ipp/performance.htmand find out the Intel IPP average performance gain over compiled c code on an Intel Pentium 4 Processor with Hyper-Threading Technology, 2.8 GHz, 512MB using Microsoft Windows* XP.

Furthermore, once you complete the installation of Intel IPP v4.1, please check the directory ..IPP41ia32_itanium oolsperfsys to run the performance tool to measure each IPP function on various Intel-based systems to find all performance data on your own. Please read the readme file for for details.
