Hi there,
I am using Ipp 5.2 gold. . My primary uses are the H263 and MPEG4 codec right now.
The MPEG4 codec has got a macroblock layer rate control which performs better than framelayer rate control. Also, I used frame layer rate control for one of the input YUV files and one of the frames generated 50000 encoded bytes for a bit rate of 50 Kbps and a frame rate of 10.
50000 bytes for a frame is super high,I am not sure what's going on, or I am doing something wrong.
I switched to macroblock layer rate control. the encoded bytes were reasonable but I see the number of bytes in P-frames increasing. I find that it is more computationally intensive. Is my observation correct ??
I am attaching the YUV file, please use MPEG4 codec from Ipp 5.2 gold and you will see thr 17th frame blow up to 50000 bytes. All the previous frames are blank black frames and then a building appears.
p.s : Please note that zip filecontains a .txt file which u rename to .yuv
Thanks,
Ram Ramani
