UMC Video Encoders with GRAY Color Format

Hi,

I have been unsuccessful in getting the UMC video encoders to work with the GRAY color format using v5.2 of the IPP libraries. I've attempted MPEG-2, MPEG-4, and the H.264 and they all report NOT_IMPLEMENTED errors while attempting to convert gray images to YUV420.

Am I using these encoders incorrectly or is the GRAY color format not supported by these compression methods or UMC? I have been using JPEG (not using the IPP implementation) to compress motion video, but I'm keen on taking advantage of the reduction in compressed data offered by MPEG.

Thanks.

Hello,

not every video compression standard may support gray images and it was not implemented in UMC codecs. You may try to extend this as you have complete source code for UMC.
