h264 decoder - doubt related to MB partition

Can any one explain me how refidx list is updated for 8x16 MB? In decoder i designed, it has 16 indices for refidx. whether can i update indices 0,1,2,3,8,9,10,11 for first 8x16 partition and 4,5,6,7,12,13,14,15 for second partition? pls reply to praveengbpersonal@gmail.com
