Does Nehalem allow scaling down voltage through software

Hi,
Does Nehalem processor allows scaling down the voltage of the processor. If yes, how can we achieve it?
Is there a software for it on Linux.

I am using cpuspeed to modify its frequency on Linux, but I am not sure if the voltage gets changed too automatically?

Also, can we measure the power consumed by each core or each processor?

Hi Priya,

I don't think the HPC forumsare the best place for your question so I'm moving it to a different location, where experts will (hopefully) be able to answer it.

Also, I found this blog post at The Server Room community. I'm not sure if it directly relates to your question, but, perhaps, it's a good place to start.

Regards,
~Gergana
